Durastab Successfully Commissions Ton-Scale Production Equipment for PC300 Preservative!
Shenzhen, China – Durastab has successfully commissioned ton-scale production equipment for its ProCide™ 300 Preservative, marking a significant milestone in enhancing production capacity and ensuring a stable supply for the in vitrodiagnostics (IVD) industry. This advancement supports the company's commitment to import substitution and providing high-quality, cost-effective raw materials.
ProCide™ 300 is a water-soluble antimicrobial formulation widely used to extend the shelf life of reagents. It contains 3% active ingredients—a combination of 5-Chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (CMIT) and 2-Methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (MIT)—dissolved in a proprietary polyol stabilizer system containing alkyl carboxylate. It is effective within a recommended pH range of 2.5 to 8.5 and is suitable for preparing various buffers, such as ELISA buffers, sample/substrate dilution buffers, and other solutions used in immunoassays and biochemical diagnostics.
The preservative's formula acts on multiple specific target sites within microbial metabolism, preventing the development of high-level microbial resistance and ensuring long-term effectiveness for IVD components during storage. By attacking key enzymes in the Krebs cycle (including pyruvate dehydrogenase, α-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase, succinate dehydrogenase, and NADH dehydrogenase), ProCide™ 300 rapidly inhibits broad-spectrum microbial activity. Its efficacy surpasses that of traditional preservatives like thimerosal and sodium azide.
