TMB Across the Main ELISA Formats
TMB is a versatile HRP indicator used in all common ELISA formats:
Sandwich ELISA — capture + detection antibody; TMB signal depends on robust, low-background development.
Direct / Indirect ELISA — antigen or antibody coated directly; TMB gives clear positive/negative separation.
Competitive ELISA — signal inversely related to analyte; a wide dynamic range helps accuracy.
Beyond microwell ELISA, Durastab™ also offers TMB formulations for membrane blotting, Western blot, immunohistochemistry and chip/microarray assays, including precipitating and chip-optimized variants. These extend the same HRP detection chemistry to additional lab and IVD platforms.
Sensitivity, Dynamic Range and Choosing a Variant
Dynamic range is especially important when an assay must quantitate a large range of analyte concentrations. For assays targeting low-concentration analytes, High Sensitive gives a strong, fast signal. For standard curves spanning a wide range, Board Range and Slow Plus extend the linear window and make endpoint timing forgiving — supporting reliable quantitation and fewer re-runs for out-of-range samples.
